Waitlist FAQ

When can I come for a tour?

When your name is close to the top of our waitlist and you have been contacted by a member of the Management Team.

Does my child have to reside in the Pape Public School catchment area to attend PCH?

For our Toddler program: Families are not required to reside in the Pape Public School catchment area to be eligible for the program.

For our Preschool programs:

  • Families of younger preschoolers are not required to reside in the Pape Public School catchment area to be eligible for the program. A younger preschooler is defined as a child who, in the year of enrollment at PCH, does not meet the eligibility criteria for Kindergarten.

  • Families of older preschoolers must reside within the Pape Public School catchment area, or have registered to attend Kindergarten at Pape Public School, in order to be eligble for the program. An older preschooler is defined as a child who, in the year of enrollment at PCH, is eligble to start Kindergarten.

For our JK/SK and School Age programs: Families must reside within the Pape Public School catchment area and/or the child must be attending/registered to attend Pape Public School.

How do I find out my child’s place on the waitlist?

If applicants or families choose to inquire about their child’s position on the waitlist, a member of the
Management Team will provide you with the number of your child’s placement on the waitlist. This number does not include priority given to group 1 (children previously registered at PCH but were withdrawn due to space availability) and group 2 (siblings and children of current PCH educators). To ascertain your child’s most accurate position on our waitlist we invite families to contact the PCH Management Team after May 1st . This process allows PCH to always maintain the privacy and confidentiality of the children on the list.

Is there a time when spaces typically become available?

Most spaces typically become available from July - September, as children age out of the program.

If I am offered a space(s) how long do I have to accept the space?

If you are contacted regarding a space, you will be invited for a tour of the Centre and meet with a member of the Management Team. After your tour, you will have 2 business days to accept or decline the space.

If you decide to accept the space, you are required to give a $200.00 non-refundable deposit to secure your space, to be applied towards the first month of enrollment.

If I am offered a spot and I decline, will my child be removed from the waitlist?

No, PCH does not take anyone off the waitlist unless explicitly asked by the family to do so. If you choose to stay on the waitlist, your child will remain at their current spot on the waitlist.

How do I remove my child's name from the waitlist?

Please e-mail us to remove your child from our waitlist.
